Who we are
HCI serves a constituency that interacts directly with the business office and/or C-suite, and supervises multiple aspects of health care facilities management including healthcare facility design, construction and operations. HCI is one of the most prominent healthcare facilities-related organizations internationally, with members throughout the world.
HCI’s nationwide educational seminar series has traveled to 25 different cities (some multiple times), resulting in a forum where facilities managers can problem solve with healthcare architects, designers, engineers, contractors and administrators.

Rod Armstrong, President
Rod is a Dallas native, a former U.S. Army officer and a 15 year veteran with Mohawk Group, where he currently serves as a Regional Vice President of Business Development for Healthcare and Higher Education. Rod has over 35 years’ commercial flooring and furniture experience in business development, marketing, sales, sales training, sales management, maintenance training and, project management. He has been a member of IFMA for 30 years, serving on the DFW board for three two-year terms and has chaired multiple committees.
Michael C. Walker, Vice President
Texas Health Resources
As Director of Real Estate Operations with Texas Health Resources, Michael is responsible for the overall leadership of the system’s North Zone Real Estate Operations. He manages all aspects of property management, asset management, leasing, strategic planning including administration and oversight of policies and procedures, and capital projects to enhance consistency and efficiency within the Texas Health North Zone portfolio. Michael joined Texas Health Resources in 1997 where he has proven his leadership through enhancing customer-focus, value creation, developing strategic initiatives, increasing profitability and growing employee relations to enhance consumer satisfaction.
Jana Gerber, Secretary
Jana has been with Schneider Electric for 15 years, and currently serves as National Account Director. Previously, Jana was the Director of Marketing for the US Buildings business leading the Building Management and Security offers and helping drive and shape Schneider Electric’s holistic position in healthcare and other building segments. It was in this role that she began her partnership with HCI, by supporting the launch and leadership of its series of regional education events and summits. Jana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Washington State University. She has resided in the Dallas area for nine years with her family.
Dean Woodley, Treasurer
Dean has 15 years of experience in managing healthcare construction projects for various clients in Texas, California, and Nebraska. He holds a degree in Construction Science from Texas A&M University, and has spent the last seven years with CBRE Healthcare. Currently he serves as a Director of Project Management for CBRE Healthcare.
David Bates, Co -Membership Chair
David is a Business Development Manager for TDIndustries, the largest mechanical subcontractor in Texas. His responsibilities include estimating, budgeting, and business development. Before coming to TDIndustries, David spent 15 years in the accounting industry. He has been with TDIndustries for 17 years where his efforts have been crucial in landing some of the firm’s highest-profile projects including the Atlanta Falcons Stadium, the Kimbell Art Museum expansion, and the corporate campuses of JPMorgan Chase and Liberty Mutual. Actively involved in the community and industry, David is a member of ASHRAE, DBIA, and 7x24, and serves on multiple boards including the Junior Board for Joey’s Dream Builder, and the Turtle Creek Recovery Center Board. David and his wife Leslie have been married for 22 years, and they have a daughter named Courtney who is currently attending the University of Texas studying Nutrition. In his free time, David enjoys any activity that takes him outdoors and is an avid golfer, hunter, and angler.
Andy Bruggeman, Co - Membership Chair
Andy Bruggeman is an Account Executive with the Mohawk Group, with over 14 years in manufacturing sales experience. He previously owned and managed a professional floor cleaning and restoration business. His extensive product knowledge has proven to be a tremendous asset to end users, the A&D community, and FMs. Andy recently moved to DFW from Lafayette, La., with his wife and four children. He loves, running, fishing/hunting, doing anything outdoors, and coaching soccer.
Dan Killebrew, Program Chair
Dan Killebrew, AIA, is a registered architect focusing on the design of healthcare facilities in the U.S. Dan has more than 30 years of experience in creating solutions for healthcare projects in the full spectrum of architectural services, from master planning and pre-design thru implementation documents and contract administration. Having served on the board of directors for the former Health Industry County of North Texas for eight years and the Dallas American Institute of Architects for Board for two years, Dan brings to HCI North Texas a strong network of industry professionals as reliable resources from whom HCI members can gain insight.
JONNI JOHNSON, CPSM, Sponsorship Chair
Jonni is a senior level strategic and operational thinker who enjoys advancing the AEC industry in the pursuit of client delight. She has been involved in healthcare in some form or fashion for over 20 years and professes to have started when she was five years old. Jonni is an Air Force brat and enjoys traveling the world. What’s most important to her is enjoying what she does with authenticity and integrity and having fun while she’s doing it.
Her role as Chief Reinvention Officer at FKP, a strategic design firm that creates truly healthy communities, involves growing FKP’s healthcare market, reimagining new service offerings, and developing specific strategies to re-align practice models to the evolving market place.
She has served on numerous boards including ACHE North Texas, Habitat for Humanity and COAA, and is currently an advisory board member of the Dallas Healthcare Think Tank.
Jeff Eggleston, IT & Public Relations Chair
Jeff has been with Schneider Electric for 25 years, and currently serves as the Healthcare Key Account Manager. He leads the Healthcare Cross Business Unit Development team for multiple segments including Building Controls, Security, and Critical Power Applications. Previous roles at Schneider Electric include System Integration sales leader and mentor in North Texas for Healthcare, Data Center, and University and Education end-users. In addition, Jeff is an active member with ASHRAE and TAHFM, and has served on the University of North Texas Board of Directors for the Paccar Technology Institute – Zero Energy Research Lab. His healthcare expertise and networking resources will provide an innovative, effective, and productive solution for success with HCI North Texas.
